Book interior design that reads like a traditionally published book.
We typeset your manuscript in Adobe InDesign: balanced margins, considered typography, clean chapter openings, and deliver print-ready PDF and validated EPUB files for KDP, IngramSpark, and everywhere else your book will live.
Starting at $250
For first-time authors, established authors, small presses, and publishers who need book interior design handled properly.
Nobody compliments a well-set interior. That's the point.
Readers should notice the story, not the widows, rivers, or shifting margins. We sweat the invisible details of book interior formatting so your book feels inevitable, page after page.
Your interior is your credibility.
A template interior tells bookstores, reviewers, and readers the book was made cheaply, before they've read a single word. Professional book interior design signals that the work inside was worth the effort.
Print is unforgiving.
Word shifts page breaks every time you breathe on it. InDesign locks the layout exactly where it belongs. One is a manuscript tool. The other is a publishing tool, the foundation of serious book interior design. We only use the second one.
Ebooks break silently.
An unvalidated EPUB looks fine on your Kindle and broken on someone else's. Every ebook interior we deliver is run through an EPUB validator before it leaves the studio, so it works on every device your readers own.
Everything a finished interior needs.
One complete book interior design service, from the first chapter opening to the final validated file. No templates, no Word documents, no surprises at upload.
Real interiors, real books.
A few spreads from recent book interior design projects, fiction, nonfiction, and everything in between.

From manuscript to finished interior.
A straightforward book formatting process. You send the manuscript. We handle everything between that and upload-ready files.
Send the manuscript
Your final, edited manuscript as a Word or Google Doc. Tell us the trim size and which editions you need: paperback, hardcover, ebook, or all three.
Approve the design proof
We typeset the opening chapters and send a styled proof: typography, chapter openings, headers, and spacing, the full look of your book interior design.
Refine the details
Two revision rounds to tune the typography, spacing, and small details. We check every spread so nothing awkward survives into print.
Receive final files
Print-ready PDF, validated EPUB, and the complete InDesign source package. Upload to KDP and IngramSpark with confidence.

Book interior formatting FAQ
Straight answers about our book interior design service, what we need, what you get, and how long it takes.
How much does book interior formatting cost?
It depends on page count, images, tables, and how many editions you need. A straightforward novel costs less than a heavily illustrated nonfiction book. Tell us about your project and we'll quote it properly. No vague price ranges.
Why InDesign instead of Word for book interiors?
Word is a writing tool. It reflows text unpredictably, shifts page breaks, and can't control typography precisely. Adobe InDesign is the professional standard for book interior design: it locks every element exactly where it belongs and produces files printers actually accept.
What do you need from me to start?
Your final, edited manuscript (Word or Google Doc), your chosen trim size, and any images or charts at print resolution. If you're unsure about trim size, we'll recommend one based on your genre before we start typesetting.
Do you format ebooks as well as print?
Yes. Every interior includes a reflowable EPUB validated for Kindle, Apple Books, and Kobo, with a working linked table of contents. Print PDF and EPUB are built from the same source, so nothing drifts between editions.
How long does interior formatting take?
Most book interior design projects are completed within two weeks of approved design proof. Complex nonfiction with tables, images, and footnotes takes longer. We'll give you an exact timeline with your quote.
Can you fix an interior someone else formatted?
Yes, rescue work is a regular part of the studio. If your files were rejected by KDP or IngramSpark, or the interior just doesn't look professional, we'll diagnose the problems and rebuild it properly in InDesign.
Let's make the inside match the ambition.
Send the manuscript. Tell us where the book is going. We'll handle everything between that and upload-ready files.
